Yannick Ngakoue is not attending Jaguars mandatory minicamp this week.
Players report for camp on Monday and Ngakoue wasn't there. The Jaguars have the ability to find Ngakoue for not being there, but instead they should do their part and pay their young star. Ngakoue released a statement explaining his absence: "I will not be attending minicamp as my contract has not been resolved. I remain committed to Jacksonville, the fans and my teammates. My hope is to be with Jacksonville for years to come." It's time for the Jaguars to pay their star pass rusher the money he deserves. Each day they wait, more goodwill is lost. And the potential for his price tag to go up throughout the summer due to other pass rushers getting paid is also there. If the Jaguars won't offer a worthy deal to a self-motivated pass rusher with a clean bill of health that is set to enter the prime of his career, then I would question what's going on inside that building. Stay tuned for more. |
