Welcome Back Aaron Colvin
Aaron Colvin was suspended earlier this summer for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. This suspension banned him from playing in the first four games of 2016 and forced the Jaguars into making some difficult decisions in regards to who they would keep on the team. It's well known that Colvin is the starting nickel cornerback when he's active. Now in his third year in the NFL Colvin is expected to be a standout at the nickel and should greatly help a defense that has already shown vast improvement early on in 2016.
Happy Trails Dwayne Gratz
Dwayne Gratz was the third ever draft pick made by Dave Caldwell and Gus Bradley and unfortunately he is now the latest player from the Jaguars 2013 draft class to find himself jobless. Many, including myself, believed that Gratz would be released by the Jaguars as soon as Aaron Colvin returned from his suspension. And we were right. After an impressive rookie year in Jax, Gratz never seemed to develop his skill set and was routinely in the wrong place at the wrong time. The vast majority of Jaguar fans will be happy to see the once promising Dwayne Gratz go, and his story really does exemplify the common maxim that the NFL actually stands for Not For Long.
