On Tuesday evening the list of 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame finalists was released. Among the 27 players that made the semi-finals was famed Jaguars left tackle Tony Boselli. Boselli, who is by far the most talented player in Jaguars history (sorry, Jalen), is no stranger to making it into the semi's for the Hall. In 2017 he actually made it to the finals.
There's no more questioning whether or not Tony Boselli deserves to be enshrined in Canton. Now it's not a question of if, but when? It'll be tough to make it in this year with so many fantastic players that are in their first year of eligibility, so it might not happen for Tony in 2018. But thanks to some Jacksonville area media members, and other former NFL players Tony is a near lock to get in -- eventually. Boselli played in 90 games for the Jaguars, and during his time in Jacksonville, was the most dominant left tackle in football. He had the pleasure of man handling many of the very best pass rushers of his generation including the great Bruce Smith. The list did not include another Jaguar who picked up HOF steam this offseason - the team's all time leading rusher Fred Taylor. Taylor will likely be a long shot to ever get in, based on the remarkable running backs that played in his era. Stay tuned for more Hall of Fame coverage! Follow Jordan de Lugo on Twitter |
