While many will disagree, in my opinion, the Jaguars are in a tough spot when it comes to drafting a pass rusher early on in the draft. I believe that they will pursue and acquire at least 2 pass rushers in free agency, which would leave them open to the possibility of not taking one early in the draft. Would they draft someone like DeForest Buckner or Shaq Lawson, with Joey Bosa likely off the board by the time the Jags pick at number 5? Maybe . . . but this is the scenario that I find more likely.

Round 1.
Jalen Ramsey — Ramsey is everything the Jaguars could hope for in a secondary player. He can likely succeed in the NFL at corner and free safety. His physical tools and his body of work tell the story.  Ramsey is an All-American and Jim Thorpe award winner with insane playmaking ability and the versatility to play multiple positions in the secondary.  The Jaguars are praying that he drops to them at 5, and if he does they should run to the podium to select the freakish playmaker out of Florida State. If the Jaguars are fortunate enough to nab Ramsey, he could be the answer at free safety that Dave Caldwell and Gus Bradley have been so desperately searching for.
Alternative Options: Myles Jack, Jaylon Smith, Joey Bosa (likely unavailable)
Round 2.

Deion Jones — Jones, like Ramsey, is one hell of an athlete. An undersized linebacker, similar to current Jaguar Telvin Smith, Jones runs a 4.5 forty and brings a boom when he arrives at his target. Jones was held back by not earning the starting job at LSU until his senior season, but once he got on the field it was clear that he belonged. Recording 100 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks in his senior season, Jones cemented himself as a true talent in the eyes of NFL scouts. Jones sometimes struggles to shed blocks and will need to improve in coverage, but overall is a solid prospect with a key trait, that every NFL defense covets - SPEED.

Alternative Options: Darian Thompson, Noah Spence (likely unavailable)

Round 3.

Kenyan Drake — Drake is what the Jaguars wished they got out of Denard Robinson. He is a do it all running back, a pocket knife if you will, he can run the ball, catch the ball out of the backfield, and has legitimate kick return skills. With the Robinson experiment seemingly coming to an end, look for the Jaguars to find their change of pace back at some point in this draft, and Drake could be their man. With such a unique skill set, Drake could be the best do it all running back in the draft.

Alternative Options: DeAndre Houston-Carson, Jalen Mills
