It's long been rumored that friends Tom Coughlin and Bill Belichick would get their teams together for some extra practices prior to their preseason contest on August 10th. The teams face on in New England for each team's first preseason game of 2017. Now it's been confirmed - The Patriots have invited the Jaguars to joint practices and the Jaguars have accepted that invitation.
The two squads will practice together at New England's facility on August 7th and 8th. Last year the Jaguars hosted the Buccaneers for a couple of joint practices during preseason / training camp and the team has traveled to Atlanta before for the same. Now, they'll face off against a retooled and reloaded championship squad from New England. Preseason doesn't count for a reason, but this will be a good litmus test for the young and talented Jaguars. Having the opportunity to practice with the defending world champions to begin our preseason schedule will be beneficial to our football team . . . We appreciate Coach Bill Belichick extending the invitation to our organization.
This will be the most talented roster the Jaguars have faced in the preseason in some time, and certainly will be the best one they've had joint practices against.
