The Jaguars are in position to do something they haven't done in a decade: clinch a playoff spot. With a 9-4 record after defeating the Seahawks this past Sunday the Jaguars need only win one more game to clinch their first playoff spot since 2007. That's right. All the Jaguars have to do in order to clinch a playoff spot this week is beat the lowly Texans. While there are no gimmes in football - this one is about as easy as it gets. The Texans have been decimated by injuries in 2017 and don't look like a team that has the talent to play with the Jaguars at this point. Of course, that's not the only way the Jaguars can clinch a playoff spot this week. If any of the following things happen, then the Jags are in: 1. Jax tie + Buffalo loss or tie 2. Jax tie + Baltimore loss or tie 3. Buffalo loss + Baltimore loss 4. Baltimore loss + Kansas City vs Los Angeles (Chargers) doesn't end in a tie. So, there is an extremely high chance that the Jaguars will clinch their first playoff spot in ten years this week. Beyond clinching a playoff spot the Jaguars are also competing for the AFC South division crown AND home field advantage in the playoffs AND potentially stealing one of the two AFC first round byes from the Patriots or Steelers.
