In the second half of the Jaguars demoralizing 38-14 loss to the Chargers Kelvin Beachum went down with a really scary concussion. Generally when players suffer a concussion of that magnitude they will miss at least one game. So the Jaguars could be with out their starting left tackle against the Ravens.
If Beachum can't go against the Ravens then Luke Joeckel will likely get the start at left tackle, a move back to his former position and Chris Reed will likely start at left guard. Reed, who has never played a down in the NFL, would be matched up with the likes of Timmy Jernigan, an incredibly athletic defensive tackle. That spells trouble for a Jaguars offensive line that was already underperforming. Being with out Beachum for a week is certainly a problem, but now this -- Brandon Linder was held out of practice today with a sprained knee. Linder has been the best player on the Jaguars offense so far this year and is by far their best offensive lineman. If Beachum and Linder are both held out against the Ravens then the Jaguars will have an incredibly tough assignment lining up against a Ravens front seven that boasts dynamic pass rushers Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil. Stay tuned for more updates on the offensive line situation. More From Generation Jaguar |
