The Jaguars are fresh off a 31-12 victory over the Jets in which they dominated all phases of the game. With a 3-1 record after the first quarter of the season the Jaguars are preparing to take on the 4-0 Chiefs, who just came back from a 10 point fourth quarter deficit against the Broncos on Monday night.

This is THE matchup of the NFL season to this point.

The Jaguars have the number one defense in football, while the Chiefs boast the number one offense.

This is going to be good.

The Chiefs are led by first year starter Pat Mahomes, whose 14 TD passes leads the NFL through four weeks. They've got weapons at every level on offense. Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins form one of the most explosive duos at WR in recent memory. Travis Kelce might be the best receiving tight end in the game. Oh, and yeah, their running back, he's pretty good too. All Kareem Hunt did was lead the NFL in rushing as a rookie in 2017.

This group has been putting up some absolutely astonishing numbers to this point in the season. They're averaging over 36 points per game and show no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

But Telvin Smith isn't worried. He made that clear Wednesday afternoon when he spoke with the media saying " I love our matchups."

Smith has never been one to lack confidence. And why should he? The Jaguars are the number one team in the NFL when it comes to defending the pass, allowing an average of just 164.2 yards per game through the air. And they've been great against the run too, surrendering an average of only 95 yards per game on the ground. The Jaguars have stars at every level of the defense and have been stifling through four weeks.

Telvin Smith was far from disrespectful when it came to talking about the Chiefs offense. He was extremely complementary of Pat Mahomes and the rest of their weapons.

But make no mistake about it: Telvin Smith is confident in the Jaguars heading into their matchup with the undefeated Chiefs. And he should be.
