Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo worsened the injury he suffered earlier in the season, per Ian Rapoport. He’s headed to IR and is done for the season. In the closing minutes of the Jaguars 27-25 loss to the Texans on Sunday, Lambo attempted an onside kick and then quickly fell to his knees, clutching the same hip that kept him out for a month earlier in the season. He re-aggravated his gluteus medius muscle. Lambo has been the most accurate kicker in football since joining the Jaguars halfway through the 2017 season and has been a fixture ever since. He’s made 95% of his field-goal tries as a Jaguar, including a 59 yarder on Sunday that tied the franchise record for the longest made field goal.
The Jaguars’ kicking carousel will begin spinning, yet again. The situation was an unmitigated disaster during Lambo’s absence earlier this season. A focus on two-point conversions and fourth down tries might be in the Jaguars’ best interest moving forward. Follow Jordan on Twitter for all the latest Jaguars news and analysis. |
