The Jaguars are expected to hire 49ers Vice President of Player Personnel Ethan Waugh as their assistant general manager, per Nick Wagoner.
According to Wagoner, Waugh has an offer from Jaguars' general manager Trent Baalke and is "expected to take it after the draft barring any snags." Earlier this offseason, Jaguars' owner Shad Khan spoke about adding more brainpower to the front office. This move appears to be the first step in that direction. Waugh has been a member of the 49ers' front office for 17 years. According to the team site, he was the senior player personnel coordinator from 2015 to 2017 prior to taking on his current role. He was the teams' senior personnel assistant from 2012 to 2014, and was the midwest regional scout from 2008 to 2011. Jaguars' GM Trent Baalke and Ethan Waugh worked together in San Francisco from 2006 to 2016. Follow Jordan on Twitter. |
