REPORT: JAGUARS ONE OF TWO TEAMS 'MOST INTERESTED' IN TRADING FOR CALVIN JOHNSON's RIGHTS10/30/2017
Even if Calvin Johnson never plays another down in the NFL, he'll be remembered as one of the greatest to ever play the wide receiver position.
But according to this tweet from @MySportsUpdate ESPN's Chris Mortensen seems to think the Jaguars and Eagles are interested in making sure that Calvin Johnson does in fact play more downs in the NFL:
I've never heard of this twitter account (although they do have over 80k followers) and I haven't actually been able to find anything from Chris Mortensen on Twitter or otherwise. But if this tweet is to be believed this would have major, major implications. Calvin Johnson, despite not playing in the NFL since 2015, would immediately be the Jaguars biggest (literally and figuratively) receiving threat. At 32 years old Calvin might not be what he once was, but even if he is anywhere close to his former self, he'd be the Jaguars best WR. There's also the question of whether or not Calvin would want to play again. Would the Lions be willing to trade him? Would he want to play with Blake Bortles? The trade deadline is Tuesday, so something would have to materialize quickly in order for this to come to fruition. Do you want the Jaguars to aquire Calvin Johnson?
