In addition to the absences of Jalen Ramsey and Dante Fowler Jr., who are both suspended after violating team rules, the Jaguars will also be without Andrew Norwell, Dawuane Smoot, and Eli Ankou due to injuries when the team travels to Minneapolis to take on the Vikings in joint practices for two days and a nationally televised preseason game on Saturday.
Andrew Norwell missed the team's first preseason game and will continue to miss time with a calf injury. The general consensus is that the Jaguars are being overly cautious with their free agent stud left guard. Don't be too concerned with this one. Eli Ankou has missed a big chunk of time with a knee injury. He'll have a tough time making the roster at the defensive tackle position, especially without getting these valuable preseason reps. Dawuane Smoot may also be on the chopping block. The 2017 third round pick by the Jaguars had a nice rookie season as a rotational big defensive end, but with the addition of Taven Byran in the 2018 draft Smoot needs every rep he can get. He's missed the last few days with a foot injury and won't get the opportunity to show his stuff this week in Minnesota. Stay tuned for more! |
