Nick Marshall, who was an undrafted free agent for the Jaguars in 2015, actually dressed for 13 games as a rookie, earning one start for the team. After an offseason in which the Jaguars added Jalen Ramsey, Prince Amukamara, and Tashaun Gipson it was unclear what Marshall's role with the team would be. The former college quarterback from Auburn was a prized possession by the Jaguars coaching staff his rookie season thanks to his ridiculous athleticism and perceived ability for growth. In his second offseason with the Jaguars Marshall was clearly outplayed by Ramsey, Amukamara, and House, but that was to be expected. What surprised many including myself was the emergence of former CFL cornerback Josh Johnson. In the numbers game of building an NFL roster, Johnson's stellar play during the preseason forced the Jaguars to place Marshall on the practice squad, knowing that at some point he would likely be signed to another team's active roster. The Jets, after losing star wide receiver Eric Decker for the season, decided to sign Marshall to fill the vacated roster spot and to help aid their leaky secondary. After a promising start to Nick Marshall's time with the Jaguars, his time in Jacksonville has come to an end. Best of luck to you, Nick Marshall!
