Earlier this week Jalen Ramsey told Mike DiRocco of ESPN that he wasn't going to be able to play this Sunday. Many, including myself, believed that the entire situation was a bit fishy.
There were a couple reasons for skepticism. One being the fact that while Ramsey "ruled himself out" the Jaguars never did. The team listed him as questionable despite his comments to Mike DiRocco. Two - there were very few reports that seemed to confirm that Ramsey wouldn't play. Three - Ramsey only suffered a "jammed hand". That doesn't seem like an injury that would keep a player of Ramsey's caliber out for a game that could help the Jaguars towards a top seed in the AFC playoff race AND a contest in which he would be matched up against NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald, who will be a fist ballot Hall of Famer, had some kind words to say about Ramsey this week when told about Ramsey's injury situation. He told reporters "Jalen Ramsey with one hand is better than 95% of the cornerbacks in the league." This morning Chris Mortensen confirmed that despite Ramsey's comments earlier in the week he would play Sunday in full. This is bad news, of course, for Larry Fitzgerald and the Cardinals, but fantastic news for the Jaguars. Stay tuned for more! Follow Jordan de Lugo on Twitter. |
