Jalen Ramsey has been MIA for the Jaguars in their last two contests. The defense has struggled without their star cornerback. While they were able to pick up a hard-fought come from behind win in Denver, they fell short in Carolina last Sunday. The Jaguars' defense was clearly missing Jalen Ramsey.
Ramsey has been dealing with a back injury since the Jaguars' win against the Titans in week three. On Sunday, while his team was doing battle with the Panthers, Ramsey was visiting a back specialist in Houston. There has been no official report about the findings of the back specialist. But the Jaguars received some potentially good news this morning. Ramsey is participating in practice. It's unclear whether or not he'll be ready for the Jaguars crucial week six showdown with the Saints. "He's working extremely hard to get back," said Jaguars' head coach Doug Marrone. "Everyone's doing everything they can . . . we'll take it day by day." If Ramsey can take the field this Sunday, his presence would greatly aid the Jaguars' cause. Slowing down Michael Thomas, who has 45 catches for 543 yards in 2019, would be a massive win for the Jaguars. Ramsey's physicality in the run game would also help a defense that allowed Christian McCaffrey to run rampant in week five. Saints' running back Alvin Kamara should be licking his chops heading into this contest. All the off the field issues aside, there is no question that the Jaguars are a much better football team with Jalen Ramsey on the field. Ramsey's injury situation will be a storyline to monitor throughout the week. We'll keep you up to date. Follow Jordan on Twitter for all the latest Jaguars news and analysis. |
