The Jaguars All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey and defensive end Dante Fowler have both been suspended for the next week by the Jaguars for violating team rules. This after some disparaging tweets by Jalen Ramsey directed at the local media, specifically Phillip Heilman of the Florida Times-Union.
Jalen Ramsey is a passionate player and teammate. His suspension may lead to tension between him and the front office. Ramsey is THE foundation of the success the Jaguars have built on the defensive side of the ball. But the Jaguars, for obvious reasons, don't want players attacking the local media. Fowler was suspended following an multiple altercations with teammates on Sunday. During practice he got into it with tight end James O'Shaugnessy and after practice he and fellow defensive end Yannick Ngakoue had a heated exchange. Fowler was removed from the PUP list just one day ago. He's entering a contract year and has already been suspended by the NFL for the Jaguars week one road contest against the Giants. ​We will update this story as more information becomes available. |
