Marqise Lee's season ended on Tuesday. The Jaguars' placed him on the IR for the second-straight year. This time, he's dealing with a shoulder injury. Lee just can't seem to stay healthy.
The albino tiger, indeed.
But Lee hasn't made a significant impact in 2019 anyways. Still, without him available on games days, and Dede Westbrook battling a shoulder/neck injury of his own, the Jaguars' depth at WR will be tested over the rest of the season.
It seemed like there was a chance the Jaguars would add a receiver to reinforce their depth before the trade deadline. But the deadline has come, and past and no move was made.
That means that Keelan Cole will need to be relied upon more and more. We've seen plenty of highs and lows from Cole throughout his young career. Recently he's played well with minimal snaps. Cole has caught two touchdown passes in the last two weeks. If Westbrook is forced to miss any game time, Cole will have to step in and be the team's third receiver. And even when Westbrook does play, Cole will be the fourth wide out.
CJ Board, a young player who shined throughout the preseason, will also need to be ready to go on Sundays. Board has speed and strong hands, but doing it during the preseason is a different beast than the regular season. Board's true mettle will be tested if any more injuries are sustained at wide receiver.
