On Tuesday most head coaches around the NFL spoke with the media in Phoenix at the annual league meetings. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed that the Ravens would participate in joint practices with the Jaguars this year. While the NFL has yet to announce preseason schedules, this seems to be a strong indication that the Jaguars will play the Ravens during the preseason in Baltimore, which is where the practices will be held.
Since Doug Marrone became the head coach for the Jaguars back in 2017, the Jaguars have participated in joint practices with the Patriots (2017), Buccaneers (2017) and Vikings (2018). Throughout the history of the league many teams have gotten together for joint practices, but there's no real correlation between winning and losing when it comes to these two team practices. If you're a believer in the old adage "iron sharpens iron" then this should be music to your ears. The Ravens are a tough, well coached team that added a fair amount of talent this offseason. It's still possible that the Jaguars will add another team to their preseason joint practice schedule as they did in 2017. Stay tuned for more. |
