For the first time since 2007 the Jacksonville Jaguars are 8-4 after week 12. Things are starting to look good for the Big Cats coming off another dominant win over our AFC South rivals, the Colts.
The Jaguars got a surprisingly great offensive performance from QB Blake Bortles last week - time will tell if he can continue this ball security and revive the Jaguars passing game that fell apart against the Cardinals with a plethora of dropped passes all over the field. But the past it the past and Duval needs to focus on the now because the Jags have, in my opinion, one of the most important games of the season coming up. The Jags are set to play the Seahawks at 4:25PM after being flexed from the 1PM spot this Sunday. Again, they'll be wearing the highly adored teal alternate uniforms. The Seahawks are also sitting at 8-4 on the season coming off of a very solid 24-10 win against the team with the best record in football, the Philadelphia Eagles. Russell Wilson has had a very impressive season thus far throwing for 3000+ yards, 26 passing TDs, and 3 rushing TDs - that's twice the amount that Bortles has to this point. The Seahawks have been on track this season to make a decent run into the playoffs. But this Sunday the Jaguars have a chance to break that hope. With our #1 ranked defense and our newly promising passing game we could shock the Hawks. Our talented pass defense, when at it's best, has the power to shut down Wilson and force Seattle to rely on their lackluster run game that has currently placed them only 21st in the league in total rushing performance (it's even worse than that if you take away the legs of Russell Wilson). With the recent addition of Marcell Dareus our new run stopping D-lineman will help in that regard. The Jags have a real chance this weekend to shake up the NFL power structure and prove that they are a dominant top-10 team. According to ESPN, Jacksonville currently has a 56.9% chance of winning this week’s matchup. Will the pieces fall the Jag’s way this Sunday? Will Bortles continue to run the offense as well as he did against the Colts? All this and more will be answered Sunday! |
