According to Jason La Canfora the Jaguars will be keeping Offensive Coordinator Nate Hackett and tight end coach Ron Middleton will be staying in Duval. Nathaniel Hackett, who took over as the Jaguars Offensive Coordinator following the mid season firing of fromer OC Greg Olson, will remain the Jaguars Offensive Coordinator moving foward. While Hackett's offense was far from spectacular in 2016, it's hard to judge a guy that was thrown to the wolves mid season. There were some good things that came from the change in Offensive Coordinator. Bortles was certainly more comfortable under Hackett and it showed as Bortles big mistakes and interceptions were reduced in the latter part of the season. In addition the running game found more life under Hackett than it did under Olson. Let's not get it twisted though, the 2016 offense was not Hackett's. Things will be different in 2017 for the Jaguars offense. It will look far different from the ultra conservative play calling that was seen in 2016. Will this move lead to success? That remains to be seen.
