The Jaguars have decided to add Sam Ficken to their 90 man roster. Ficken played his college ball at Penn State and was a teammate of Jaguars receiver Allen Robinson.
Ficken spent time with the Jaguars in minicamp and will now also participate in Training Camp. In college Ficken finished second all time at Penn State with 54 made field goals. He will wear #1 for the Jaguars during training camp, but don't read too much into the signing as Ficken is likely just a camp leg. Incumbent kicker, Jason Myers had an impressive season as a place kicker going 26 for 30 with the Jaguars in 2015. Myers did have his struggles with extra point attempts, missing 7 on the season. Again, Myers is likely locked in as the starter, so don't go getting your hopes up that Myers won't be kicking the ball after the Jaguars score their first TD of the season on September 11th against the Green Bay Packers. |
