The Jaguars have signed 2020 fourth-round pick (#116 overall) offensive lineman Ben Bartch. Bartch attended Divison III St. John's University (MN). He made headlines at the NFL Combine by showing off his signature daily smoothie, a concoction that aided him in gaining over 75 pounds to make the jump from tight end to left tackle.
While Bartch played lesser competition during his collegiate days, he held up well during Senior Bowl practices, cementing his status as a mid-round offensive lineman. Bartch has shorter arms for an offensive tackle, which is one of the reasons the Jaguars will test him outside inside at guard to being his professional career. They hope he'll provide depth and potentially even supplant AJ Cann as the starting right guard. But switching from outside to inside, and from left to right will be challenging for Bartch in a shortened offseason. Bartch is the sixth of the twelve Jaguars' draft picks to sign. He joins WR Laviska Shenault Jr., DT DaVon Hamilton, LB Shaq Quarterman, WR Collin Johnson, and TE Tyler Davis. Remaining unsigned are CB CJ Henderson, EDGE K'Lavon Chaisson, CB Josiah Scott, S Daniel Thomas, and KR/PR Chris Claybrooks. Follow Jordan on Twitter for all the latest Jaguars news and analysis. |
