The Jaguars have had quite a bit of bad luck at long snapper this year. During training camp the Jaguars lost LS Carson Tinker, a team leader and fan favorite, for the season with a torn ACL. This Sunday Tinker's replacement, Matt Overton, was also lost for the season with a shoulder injury.
Enter Colin Holba. Holba is one of the few long snappers in the NFL that was actually drafted. Holba was drafted by the Steelers in the sixth round of the 2017 draft. He was cut by the Steelers on September second as the team tried to get their roster numbers down. Holba lost the starting long snapper competition to Kameron Canaday. A two year starter at long snapper for the Louisville Cardinals, Holba, was a part of some special moments in college. At Easter High School in Kentucky Holba was a two sports athlete playing baseball for three years and football for two. Holba will no be immediately plugged in as the Jaguars staring long snapper. Welcome to Duval, Colin! |
