The Jaguars have signed Toronto Argonauts guard Greg Van Roten. Van Roten spent the last two years of his professional career playing for Scott Milanovich in Toronto. Milanovich is now the Jaguars QB Coach. To infer that Milanovich may have had a part in this wouldn't be off base - surely he was at the very least consulted with regarding the move. It's not every day that the Jaguars sign a player from the Canadian Football League, however it's not unprecedented.
Prior to heading to Toronto in 2015, Van Roten played for Packers and then Seahawks. He was originally signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Penn in 2012 and appeared in 10 games for Green Bay. For the Jaguars the 6'3'', 308 lb. offensive guard will certainly provide depth - whether or not he will make the Jaguars 53 man roster come the beginning of September remains to be seen.
