NFL teams are required to cut their active roster down to 53 players by 4 pm EST on Saturday.
The Jaguars started roster cut week off with a bang. On Sunday, they traded Yannick Ngakoue to the Vikings in exchange for a 2021 second-rounder and 2022 conditional fifth-round pick. Monday morning, running back Leonard Fournette got the axe as the Jaguars waived the former fourth-overall pick. Thursday afternoon, the Jaguars traded starting safety Ronnie Harrison to the Browns and received a fifth-round pick in return. 11:15 am Friday: The first roster move on Friday came just before noon as the team released veteran defensive lineman Caraun Reid, who I did not have making the final 53-man roster. (Per Adam Schefter 2:55 pm Friday: the Jaguars cut WR Marvelle Ross and LS Matt Orzech. Orzech was the starting long snapper in 2019. Rookie Ross Matiscik is now the front runner to land the starting long snapper job As the only one currently on the team. Marvelle Ross had very little chance to make the roster with a deep group at WR. (Per Tom Pelissero) 3:22 pm Friday: Jaguars waived OL Blake Hance 4:20 pm Friday: Jaguars waived rookie RB Nathan Cottrell and OL Ryan Pope. Neither were expected to make the team. 8 pm Friday: Jaguars waived TE Matthew Flanagan, OL Austin Pleasants, OL KC McDermott, and OL Garrett McGhin 11 am Saturday: Jaguars waive CB Parry Nickerson (per Greg Auman) 1:17 pm Saturday: The Jaguars are placing veteran CB Tramaine Brock on IR (per Greg Auman). The Jaguars are waiving QBS Josh Dobbs and Mike Glennon. 2:00 pm Saturday: The Jaguars waived WR Josh Hammond (per John Shipley) 3:00 pm Saturday: The Jaguars waived rookie CB Amari Henderson (Per Greg Auman) |
