The Jaguars, following their 20-17 overtime win over the Chargers, move up another spot in the latest ESPN Power Rankings. Last week the Jags came in at ten, cracking ESPN's top ten for the first time in nearly a decade. Here's what ESPN had to say about the Jaguars this week, now at number nine in their rankings: 9. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS Short but sweet. The Jaguars have the easiest remaining schedule. They still take on the Browns, 49ers, Texans and Colts - perhaps the four worst teams in football. They've also got a dominant defense, running game, and surprisingly effective passing game in recent weeks. ESPN's FPI now projects the Jaguars to get just under 11 wins. With four almost guaranteed wins on their schedule the Jaguars would need to win just one of their contests against the Cardinals, Seahawks, and Titans in order to achieve 11 wins. The Jaguars come in at fourth in the AFC, trailing only the Patriots, Steelers, and Chiefs. It's fair to believe that the Jaguars could compete with any of those teams, but all three have a much safer track record than the Jaguars and all three have above average to elite QB play. The Jaguars are three spots ahead of their AFC South division rival the Titans. While the Jaguars are ranked ahead of their foes from Tennessee, the Titans would win the division if the season ended today - luckily for the Big Cats it doesn't.
