The Jaguars are set to release veteran WR Allen Hurns, per Adam Schefter.
As Schefter points out, Hurns will likely have a number of suitors. The 26 year old receiver is coming off two unproductive, injury plagued seasons. But prior to signing an extension with the Jaguars Hurns had two statistically impressive seasons in Jacksonville, racking up 1,708 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns during his first two years in the league.
By releasing Hurns the Jaguars save $7 million in cap space this year and even more in 2019.
Donte Moncrief, Marqise Lee, Dede Westbrook, and Keelan Cole are set to be the main contributors at wide receiver for the Jaguars in 2018, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Jaguars add another receiver early in the draft. Stay tuned for more! |
