Despite agreeing to a new two year deal this offseason the Jaguars have parted ways with veteran wide receiver and punt returner Bryan Walters. Walters spent the last two seasons with the Jaguars as a depth receiver and safety valve as a return man. He played in 21 games with the Jaguars catching 56 passes for 599 yards and three touchdowns.
Walters may have been a longshot to make the roster in any event and after being moved to IR the Jaguars apparently didn't see fit to keep him around with an already crowded WR room the includes the Allens, Marqise Lee, Dede Westbrook, Arrelious Benn, and Shane Wynn among others. This move shouldn't come as a total surprise. The Jaguars have a ton of depth at receiver and for a guy to make the team as a 5th or 6th receiver he'll likely need to be able to have multiple roles on special teams - something Walters isn't capable of. Stay tuned for more!
