The Jaguars have placed running back Carlos Hyde and safety Rayshawn Jenkins on injured reserve. Carlos Hyde suffered a concussion in week 14 and had been in the NFL's concussion protocol since. The Jaguars' number two running back will now miss the remainder of the season. His absence should lead to heavier doses of starter James Robinson and some added work for Dare Ogunbowale. Rayshawn Jenkins sustained a broken ankle in the week 15 loss to the Texans. Jenkins is the starting strong safety and a team captain. In his place, rookie Andre Cisco and second-year safety Daniel Thomas shared reps. "As far as rotation, after Rayshawn went down, I think you saw both [Andre] Cisco and DT [Daniel Thomas] were in there, and that's kind of the rotation," interim head coach Darrell Bevell shared. "We basically did it by series, that's how that was. And then there obviously were times where both of them were on the field when you go dime. So, we'll continue to work in that fashion."
Fans will finally get a chance to see more of Andre Cisco, the top pick in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, on defense. He's got above-average range and good ball skills. Follow Jordan on Twitter. |
