The Jaguars revealed on Monday that Bryan Walters has been placed on Injured Reserve with a foot injury. Walters, 29, has been with the Jaguars since 2015. He's been a reliable weapon when called upon and has been a safety valve as a returner for the team. Walters was set to compete in a big time competition for one of the last WR spots on the team. According to Brent Martineau Walters could return as soon as week four of the regular season.
As for the two cornerbacks the Jaguars added to the roster - they're both in their mid twenties. Brian Dixon, 27, has played in 37 games with the New Orleans Saints since being signed as undrafted free agent out of Missouri St. in 2014. Despite appearing in 37 games over three years with the Saints Dixon never started a game, but did chip in 42 total tackles. He most recently played for the Cardinals in 2016 where he failed to appear in a game for the team. Tyler Patmon, 26, has spent time with Dallas, Kansas City, Tennessee, Carolina, and Miami. His last appearance in a game was 2015 for the Cowboys. Both players will compete to become depth players for a Jaguars CB group that has star power at the top but lacks proven depth. These two players are far from proven, but both have in game experience and could be entering the prime of their respective careers in their mid to late twenties. All this on the night before the start of Organized Team Activities.
