The Jaguars have placed the 2018 second round tender on running back Corey Grant. That means Grant, who is set to become a restricted free agent at 4pm on Wednesday, can negotiate with other teams, but the Jaguars will have the opportunity to match any deal agreed upon. If Grant comes to an agreement with another team and the Jaguars decide not to match the deal then Jacksonville will receive a second round pick from the team Grant signs with. Grant has developed into an explosive offensive and special teams weapon. His speed and playmaking ability will certainly be attractive to teams out there, but they'll have to give up quite a bit in order to steal him away from the Jags. Either way the Jaguars will get something out of Grant this year. They'll get a second round pick or get to hold onto him. A second round pick in the NFL is extremely valuable. So is a player that can score from anywhere on the field. The chances of a team actually giving up a second round pick for Grant seems slim. Stay tuned for more. |
