![]() As first reported by the Tampa Bay Times, Jaguars 2015 first round pick Dante Fowler was arrested Tuesday night on misdemeanor charges for mischief and simple battery. According to the original report Fowler was arrested at 9:02 pm on Tuesday and was released on a $650 bond Wednesday Morning at 1:43 am. According to Mike Kaye of First Coast News "Police say the altercation occurred in an apartment complex parking lot where the 2015 first round pick was driving through. Police say Fowler got into a verbal altercation with a man in the parking lot. Police say the man had made a comment about Fowler's driving. Police say Fowler hit the man, knocked off his glasses, and stepped on them . . . the victim was not hurt." This is the second offseason where Fowler has made headlines for his off field antics. Last season he made the news when he was caught on video watching his baby momma and his girlfriend fighting. Now, according to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, Fowler was arrested in Miami in March of 2016 on assault on officer/EMT, resisting arrest. This was never previously disclosed by any news outlet. Two arrests in as many off seasons could lead to disciplinary action by the team or the league. Fowler's career has certainly gotten off to a rough start. He missed all of 2015 with a torn ACL suffered on the first day of rookie mini camp. Last summer he had the cat fight incident and then had a less than impressive first season as a pro recording only four sacks in 2016. This is not a good look for a player who has disappointed to this point in his career and already has questions about his maturity level. Stay tuned for more. |
