The NFL Scouting Combine has come and gone. With the end of the combine comes a bevy on new mock drafts. Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Media released his mock draft 2.0 on Tuesday. He only covers one round, but going much beyond that when you're predicting all 32 teams is more of an effort in futility than an actual useful exercise.
Let's check out what he has the Jaguars doing in the first round: 29. Hayden Hurst - TE, South Carolina Hurst, who'll turn 25 before the start of the 2018 season, is a little older than you'd like, but he has Pro Bowl potential and I love the physicality/toughness he brings to the table. Hurst to the Jaguars is definitely picking up steam. The soon to be 25 year old Jacksonville native makes a ton of sense for the Jaguars too. Of course, he is a good bit older than most draft prospects, but he's also a lot more NFL ready than most. He's got a great combination of size and athletic ability. It translates to the field wonderfully, making him a complete combo tight end. If the Jaguars do indeed go tight end in the first round they'll likely look to add a receiver and offensive lineman soon there after.
