On Tuesday the Jaguars made 2019 season ticket renewals available for their 25th anniversary season. Current season ticket holders have until March 29th to renew their tickets. This season, ticket prices will increase by an average of just 2.4%, down from 10.9% in 2018.
Some fans will be less than thrilled to see a ticket price increase after a disappointing 5-11 season. However, seeing an average ticket price increase of only 2.4% should be a collective win for season ticket holders. Naturally, some tickets will increase by more than 2.4%, but the majority of fans will see little to no difference in the price of their season tickets, and some will see a decrease in price.
Mark Lamping, the team's president, spoke on the season ticket renewals Tuesday afternoon.
“In 2018, the Jaguars had the lowest average GA ticket price in the entire league," said Lamping. We expect that Jaguars fans will continue to enjoy the lowest average GA price in 2019.
“Most of our season ticket members will experience no ticket price increase this year, and many will benefit from a price decrease. We are adjusting ticket prices in some of our most in-demand sections. Striking this balance allows the Jaguars to continue to offer both affordability and a great value to our loyal season-ticket members.”
The Jaguars will continue to adjust ticket prices from season to season and work to make new seating options available. As a franchise in the smallest NFL market outside of Green Bay, Lamping and the Jaguars must be creative in making the Jacksonville a sustainable home base.
The fans must play their part in making this a more sustainable franchise.
