According to Mike Kaye of First Coast News the Jaguars are interested in a Chiefs player, but not the one you might be expecting.
If the Jaguars do pursue and sign Jeff Allen, it could mean the end of the road in Jax for Zane Beadles, the Jaguars current, much maligned, starting left guard. It could also mean that the Jaguars are comfortable moving forward with either A.J. Cann or Brandon Linder at the center spot, both of whom currently play guard for the team.
Would Jeff Allen provide an upgrade for the Jags? You betcha! Allen was graded as the tenth best offensive guard in football last by Pro Football Focus and excels in run blocking as well as being an adequate pass protector. Allen is only 26 years old and could be a long term staple at guard for the Jaguars. |
