Jaguars CB AJ Bouye will not play against the Colts this Sunday.
Bouye, who also missed the Jaguars last contest against, injured his calf in practice prior to the week eight loss to the Eagles. Apparently a bye week wasn’t enough time for Bouye to get right. He declined an interview with ESPN’s Mike DiRocco on Wednesday by telling D-Roc he wouldn’t be playing this weekend against the Colts.
UPDATE: When asked about AJ Bouye telling reporters that he won’t play against the Colts this weekend Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone was clearly taken-a-back and said “that’s news to me.” And went on to say “we’ll handle that.” Yikes... In a game that the Jaguars are desperate to win — amidst a four game losing streak — the Big Cats won’t have their Pro Bowl cornerback. But they will likely have Jalen Ramsey, DJ Hayden (who's expected to return from an extended absence thanks to a toe injury), Tyler Patmon, and Dee Delaney. Rookie CB Quenton Meeks is also questionable with a knee injury. The CB group will be tested big time by Andrew Luck and company. Luck has tossed 23 TD passes in just eight games this year and the Colts have won two straight games, albeit against the lowly Raiders and Bills. The Jaguars surrendered 286 passing yards and three touchdowns to the Eagles last time they stepped on the field. Every player, outside of Bouye and Meeks, on the Jaguars active roster, including Leonard Fournette, participated in practice on Wednesday. Starting QB Blake Bortles said of his shoulder injury "it feels good . . . better than ever." Stay tuned for more! |
