Jaguars fans, players, and coaches have wounded egos after a 2-9 start to 2016, but even worse is the list of actual injuries that are starting to pile up for the struggling Jaguars.

The Jaguars were without several key players when they took on the Bills this Sunday.

They entered the game missing linebacker Dan Skuta and tight end Julius Thomas who both have back injuries, defensive lineman Jared Odrick who has a bum shoulder, defensive tackle Abry Jones who has an ankle injury, and defensive end Chris Smith was out with an eye injury.

This list grew by leaps and bounds following the Jaguars close loss to the Bills. Embattled punt returner Rashad Greene sustained and achilles injury. The Jaguars star rookie pass rusher Yannick Ngakoue left the game in the fourth quarter with a sprained ankle. After a hot start to the contest Chris Ivory was forced to the sideline with a hamstring injury. The same ailment forced Allen Hurns out of the game after he scored an impressive TD off of a WR screen. T.J. Yeldon was greatly limited in this one with an ankle injury. Also suffering an ankle injury was backup safety and special teamer Peyton Thompson. Add in the fact that Marcedes Lewis, Luke Joeckel, Patrick Omameh are all already on IR and you have a grim situation for the reeling Jaguars.

Injuries are part of the game in the NFL, but with the Jaguars missing possibly their two best running backs, starting punt returner, starting receiver, starting tight end, and three starters in the defensive front seven it's going to be difficult to compete moving forward, especially if one or more of these injuries keeps players out long term.

The season is already lost for the Jaguars as they sit at 2-9, but the front office and coaching staff would certainly like to see a competitive team over the final five games of 2016. With each new loss and the mounting injuries it's going to be tough for these Jaguars to not finish the season as one of the worst three of four teams in the NFL.
