Jags fans have done it again.
Well, this time, it's one fan in particular. Reddit user "Anuglyman" took it upon himself to try to get the Jaguars a better pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
How can a single fan impact where the Jaguars select in the draft?
Well, because the Vikings, when they acquired pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue from the Jaguars this summer, included a conditional 2022 fifth-round pick in the deal. For that pick to turn into a fourth-rounder, Yannick Ngakoue must make the Pro Bowl. Even though the Vikings have already moved on from Ngakoue, trading him to the Ravens, they're still responsible for giving the Jags a fourth-rounder instead of a fifth if he makes the Pro Bowl.
That's where Reddit user "Anuglyman" comes in. Players can be voted into the Pro Bowl by, you guessed it, fans. And fans aren't limited to a single vote. No, the NFL encourages fans to vote as many times as they want. All our friend on Reddit needed to do to earn the Jaguars a better draft pick in 2022 was convince other fans around the league to mass vote Yannick Ngakoue into the Pro Bowl. He (presumably identifies as a man based on the username) took it upon himself to go to the subreddit pages for the rest of the teams in the NFC North, the Packers, Lions, and Bears, and kindly ask them to vote Yannick Ngakoue into the Pro Bowl. Several thousand upvotes (Reddit's version of a like) later, and "Anuglyman" has created a full-on movement.
What better way for fans to come together for a common cause than spurn the Vikings and simultaneously help lift the Jaguars from the pit of misery?
Of course, with five sacks and two forced fumbles in nine games, Ngakoue might have made the Pro Bowl independently.
