During this time of year no news is good news for NFL teams.
Unfortunately for the Jaguars and defensive tackle Marcell Dareus some big news broke Wednesday evening.
Dareus is being sued by a Texas woman for sexual assault and the spreading of an STD, which she says is herpes. The woman states that she and Dareus went to dinner during April and stayed with each other in a hotel the same night, but claims she remembers nothing after the two arrived at dinner. She also says that Dareus informed her that the two had sex that evening the following morning, and goes on to say that they had consensual sex over the next two days. The accuser claims she was diagnosed with herpes later that week.
This is the second time Dareus has been accused of sexual misconduct. A Las Vegas woman accused him of sexual assault after a party that Dareus attended in Tampa during January of 2017. Dareus is scheduled to appear in court later this summer in regards to the first sexual assault lawsuit.
Regardless of his innocence or guilt, being accused by two separate women on sexual assault is not a good look for the Jaguars' defensive tackle.
The team has yet to make any comment on the situation.
Stay tuned - we will provide more details as they become available.
