Last week Nashville was hit by a devastating tornado that killed at least 24 people and laid waste to large portions of the city and the surrounding areas.
Many groups have come together in support of Tennessee, as thousands of volunteers have offered their time and effort to help in the wake of the natural disaster. Now, the Jaguars have joined forces with their AFC South rival, the Texans and Colts, to donate towards the relief efforts. The teams are joining together to donate $100,000 to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. "I know Nashville is a tightly knit community where everyone is a friend and neighbor to one another," said Shad Khan, the Jacksonville Jaguars owner. "I want Titans fans and everyone in Nashville to know they also have friends and neighbors throughout the AFC South, and that is particularly true in Jacksonville. We're here now, and as long as it takes to lend a hand and our hearts to Nashville." For those interested in offering support via donation, please visit www.cfmt.org/. |
