The Jaguars have claimed former Texans WR Jaelen Strong off waivers, and have subsequently placed DT Michael Bennett on injured reserve, this according to Mike Kaye of First Coast News.
Bennett was held out of the Jaguars most recent contest with a pectoral injury. He'll miss extended time, again. The oft injured Bennett may be running out of chances to solidify his place in the NFL. The Texans released WR Jaelen Strong just over 24 hours ago. Now he'll head to London with the Jaguars, his former division rival, and the team that beat his own 29-7 less than two weeks ago. Strong has a long history of off the field issues including a 2016 marijuana related arrest, and he's struggled to make a name for himself on the field despite being a 2015 third round pick. He clearly hasn't yet found his way in the NFL and he's going from one banged up to WR group to another. The Jaguars are without their best WR Allen Robinson and their fourth WR rookie Dede Westbrook. In week two the receivers struggled to make an impact until the game had already been wrapped up for the Titans. Strong should immediately compete to be the team's third wide receiver, for now. With Robinson and Westbrook out the Jags have been forced to rely on undrafted rookie Keelan Cole, and to this point he hasn't come through for the Jaguars.
