Teams are now able to claim players that were waved earlier this week. The Jaguars have added linebacker Arthur Brown and free safety Marqueston Huff. PRESENTED BYThe Jaguars have claimed inside linebacker Arthur Brown from Baltimore and free safety Marqueston Huff from Tennessee.
Brown has spent three years in Baltimore since being a second round pick in 2013. While Brown hasn't made a huge contribution on game day as a linebacker, he has shown the ability to be an effective special teams player. In his time with the Ravens Brown tallied only 17 tackles and 1 forced fumble, and hasn't started a single game. Earlier this offseason Brown made it clear that he wanted to contribute, not only on special teams "I came here to play, not only on special teams, but as a linebacker". Apparently the Ravens saw fit to let him fight for playing time at linebacker somewhere else. This is a decent addition for the Jaguars as Brown will likely compete on special teams and as a back up linebacker. Huff was a fourth round pick by the Titans in 2014 and has contributed just 33 tackles as back up safety and special teamer. He'll add safety depth and special teams help and won't count against the 53 man roster until after week 1 due to a 1 game suspension to start the season. |
