The Jaguars made two roster moves Tuesday afternoon. They placed veteran running back Chris Thompson on injured reserve with a back injury and re-signed Caraun Reid to their practice squad.
Thompson was the team's primary third-down back, but with feature back James Robinson showing the ability to pass protect and catch passes out of the backfield, he and Dare Ogunbowale — who served the same role for the Bucs in 2019 — should have no problem filling in for Thompson. The Jaguars signed Thompson this offseason, and he's been fairly effective in his role, catching 20 of 23 targets out of the backfield. Whether or not he'll be able to return to the field before the end of the 2020 season remains unclear, but he'll be eligible to return after the Jaguars' Week 13 matchup with the Vikings. Defensive tackle Caraun Reid returns to the Jaguars' practice squad after a brief stint as a free agent. Reid bounced around the league after the Lions selected him in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He originally signed with the Jaguars this summer on August 10th. Reid has seen action in three games for the Jaguars this year. Follow Jordan on Twitter for all the latest Jaguars news and analysis. |
