The NFL season is almost upon us!
With the Chiefs set to take on the Texans Thursday night, football fans across the country — and the world — are ready to stare at their television sets for hours on end. With that in mind, we got together with our friends over at Odds Checker to provide and analyze some Jaguars betting odds for the upcoming season. The Jaguars are +310 against the Colts in week one, meaning they're a heavy underdog. Indy is favored by 7.5 despite playing on the road. This is an interesting one. I think on paper, almost everyone would think this should be an easy one for the Colts. But in Gardner Minshew's lone start against the Colts, he led the Jaguars to a 38 point outburst in the final game of 2019. The Colts are just 1-9 in season openers over the last ten seasons, and they haven't beaten the Jaguars in Jacksonville since 2014, Blake Bortles' rookie year. Looking ahead, the Jaguars are +2500 to win the AFC South, the worst odds of any team in the division. That's not surprising, considering the national expectation is that the Jaguars will be picking number one overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. While I don't think they're ready to take the division, I don't think they'll come in last place in the AFC South either. |
