The Jaguars have activated starting right guard AJ Cann from the reserve/COVID-19 list. Cann was initially placed on the list on August 27th, despite being fully vaccinated. Now that Cann is active, the Jaguars have no players on the COVID-19 list and are close to full health among their starters entering the first week of the 2021 regular season. To make room for Cann on the active roster, the Jaguars waived first-year defensive end Aaron Patrick. Patrick was a relative unknown entering the season, but at 6'4" and 245-pounds, he made a massive impact against the run in the preseason and showed the ability to play assignment-sound football. If Patrick clears waivers, I expect him to revert to the practice squad, where the Jaguars have one spot available. The Jaguars look to be fully healthy on the offensive line for the first in 2021. Starting left tackle Cam Robinson missed time with an ankle injury. Andrew Norwell missed most of the preseason with an elbow injury. Center Brandon Linder was dealing with tendonitis, and Cann was on the COVID list. Right tackle Jawaan Taylor is the only starter along the offensive line that didn't miss any time.
