Within less than a quarter of football the Jaguars 2017 first and second round picks both sustained injuries, that at the time of their occurrence, appeared serious.

In the fourth quarter of the Jaguars week six loss to the Rams Leonard Fournette took a nasty spill. He attempted to walk it off but ended up needing assistance. The injury looked fairly gruesome, but ended up being only a minor ankle injury. Fournette missed the Jaguars week seven contest, but by all accounts should be ready to go when the Jaguars take the field again in week nine.

Less than a quarter later, on the Jaguars first drive of their week seven win against the division rival Colts, Cam Robinson sustained an injury that too looked serious. Fortunately for the Jaguars, and all those dedicated to the Black and Teal, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that Cam Robinson had an MRI on his ankle which came back negative.

For now, the Jaguars and their fans can take a deep breath. Their two rookies, who are playing exceptional football, avoided what could have been very serious injuries. The team hasn't yet commented on whether or not the two will be able to play against the Bengals in the Jaguars next game, but the fact they will have a bye week to rest is certainly an encouraging sign.

The week eight bye week couldn't come at a better time. The Jaguars are still waiting on Brandon Linder to return from an illness that has kept him out for three consecutive games and could certainly use the services of Leonard Fournette and Cam Robinson when they take on a talented, yet underachieving Bengals squad - the same squad that embarrassed the Jaguars in a 2016 preseason game that served as a litmus test for the Jaguars. They failed miserably.

This game will not only be a shot at revenge for the Jaguars, but an opportunity to win back to back games for the first time in 2017 AND a chance to get their first win at EverBank Field this season.
