Early Wednesday morning the Jaguars announced that former New York Giant offensive lineman Chris Snee would be consulting with the Jaguars during the combine.
As stated in Tad Dickman's tweet Snee will work with the team's personnel guys to try and help them with offensive line scouting. The connection between the Jaguars and Snee is an obvious one. Snee spent his entire career with the New York Giants. Tom Coughlin was his head coach for the entirety of his career, while current Jaguars offensive line coach Pat Flaherty held the same position with the Giants during that time span.
Did I mention Snee is married to Coughlin's daughter? Snee is clearly interested in getting into the player personnel and or coaching world, so the attraction for him isn't hard to find. And on the flip side the Jaguars certainly respect Snee's knowledge of the game and specifically offensive lineman. After all Snee was a four time Pro Bowler and two time Super Bowl Champ during his tenure with the Giants. It'll be interesting to see if this leads to anything more permanent moving forward, but for now it'll be good to have one of the best offensive lineman to play for Coughlin in recent memory serving as a sounding board for the Jaguars personnel department during the NFL Combine that officially started February 28th and will run through March 6th. Welcome to Duval, Chris Snee (Even though you're not physically here, you are in spirit)!
