Welcome in to my final 2021 Jacksonville Jaguars predictive 7-round mock draft! We're going all thriller, no filler on this one. #1 Overall - QB Trevor Lawrence, Clemson 6055, 213 lbs. 21 years old #25 Overall - EDGE Azeez Ojulari, Georgia 6022, 249 lbs. 20 years old The chances of Ojulari falling to 25 seemed slim in recent weeks, but his knee has been flagged by some teams around the league. The Jaguars will take advantage, landing a prospect who many consider the top edge rusher in the class. Ojulari has played in 21 games over the past two seasons and has 18.5 tackles for loss and 15.5 sacks to show for it. He fits well in a multiple front defense and, despite his size, is a strong run defender. He gives the Jaguars a third young edge defender that fits Joe Cullen's scheme. #33 Overall - TE Pat Freiermuth, Penn State 6050, 251 lbs. 22 years old I've long believed the Jaguars would end up with Pat Freiermuth on their roster. There are too many connections to ignore. The Jaguars are in desperate need of a quality receiving tight end, and Freiermuth just so happened to play for Jacksonville's tight end coach Tyler Bowen at Penn State. Urban Meyer offered Freiermuth a scholarship out of high school. He couldn't land the star tight end then, but he does now. #45 Overall - S Richie Grant, UCF 5115, 197 lbs. 23 years old Grant is easily one of the top two safeties in this class, and he'd be flirting with S1 on my board if he played with just a touch more consistency. But his high-level reps, and there are many of them, are really impressive. Grant has the range to play single-high safety but the power and mentality to bring the pain in the box. He should excel in man coverage against tight ends and slot receivers as well. Having a safety with so much versatility and playmaking ability will allow Joe Cullen to get creative on the back end. #52 Overall - WR Amari Rodgers, Clemson 5094, 212 lbs. 21 years old (Traded #65, #145) Amari Rodgers has been one of Trevor Lawrence's top weapons over the past couple of years, and that will continue in Jacksonville. He runs routes like a receiver and has strong hands, but once he has the ball in his hands, Rodgers moves like a running back, breaking arm tackles and fighting for extra yards. He has rare strength for a slot receiver and will add another dimension to the Jaguars' already impressive receiver room. Urban Meyer told Rodgers the Jaguars could see him in a Percy Harvin type role. 'Nuff said. #90 Overall - DT Tommy Togiai, Ohio State
6014, 296 lbs. 21 years old (Traded #130, #175) Togiai signed with Urban Meyer and Ohio State back in 2018. He immediately became a strong voice in the defensive line room and has developed into one of the more stout run defenders in this class. He is legitimately one of the strongest defensive linemen you'll see, as evidenced by his 40 bench press reps. He has pass-rush upside and will help Urban Meyer and the Jaguars' defensive line become an upper-echelon unit in this league. #106 Overall - RB Trey Sermon, Ohio State 6003, 215 lbs. 22 years old Sermon never played under Urban Meyer at Ohio State, but he excelled as a zone runner and showed a massive ceiling over his final few collegiate games. Sermon doesn't bring a unique skill set to the Jaguars' backfield, but he gives the Jaguars a third runner who can carry the load at a high level in a zone rushing attack. He's an explosive runner with excellent vision and contact balance. #249 Overall - CB Avery Williams, Boise State 5083, 187 lbs. 22 years old Williams is a diminutive corner that brings value as a potential impact nickel in sub-packages. But the main reason Urban Meyer covets him is his special teams ability. Meyer is borderline obsessed with special teams, and adding a prospect like Williams, who is well versed in kick and punt coverage and as a returner, makes too much sense here. With this draft class, the Jaguars dramatically improve their defensive line, pass-catching options, and defensive backfield. With no offensive lineman selected, they'll need to figure out a plan for the future as they have several contracts that will expire in the next year or two. Still, the Jags weren't going to invest in a 2021 starting offensive lineman here, and they'll have a shot to be very competitive with the talent infusion this class gives them.
