News came out Friday morning that the Jaguars would be changing the name of their football stadium. EverBank Field will now be known as TIAA Bank Field.
For those that have been reading the tea leaves the move does not come as a surprise: EverBank was purchased by TIAA Cref last year and the rumors have been swirling regarding a name change in the future. Now, that name change has come to fruition. Team President Mark Lamping had this to say about the name change: "We're excited for our relationship with EverBank to not only continue, but grow under the new name TIAA Bank. They have been a fantastic corporate partner for many years, sharing our mutual commitment to the betterment of the First Coast community." Good news for the fans? The nickname "The Bank" that the people of Jacksonville have grown to love over the last half decade isn't going anywhere. According to Mike Kaye of First Coast News, the name change is expected to take place by the start of preseason 2018. Stay tuned for more! Follow Generation Jaguar on Twitter. |
