EverBank Field, the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars, has created quite a stir over the last several years. The improvements made to it since Shad Khan took over ownership of the team at the end of 2011 include the world's largest outdoor scoreboards, a pair of pools in the North End zone surrounded by a casual lounging/party area, a complete renovation of the club area, and a completely new locker room among others. Now, Shad Khan and his team are almost finished building the first ever open air amphitheater and practice field connected to an NFL stadium.
Needless to say the home of the Jaguars has gone from a slightly dated NFL stadium to one of the best game day experiences in all of football. We're not the only ones that have taken note. The Travel Channel recently published a Bucket List for Football fans that included 15 different experiences that are a must for fans of the gridiron. EverBank Field made the list. Here's what they had to say: The Jacksonville Jaguars may not be one of the preeminent franchises in the NFL but their stadium is noteworthy for one very large reason. EverBank Field boasts the largest video board in the NFL at a staggering 60 feet high, 362 feet long and powered by 35.5 million LED bulbs. In-game highlights never looked so good.
Yeah, the Jaguars haven't made the playoffs in nine years - we know. But the emphasis on improving the fan experience has been apparent since Shad Khan and President Mark Lamping took over the business side of things for the Jaguars.
Our team isn't getting national recognition - yet - but at lest their home is. Follow Jordan de Lugo on Twitter
